LIMBO GYM HISTORY
Limbo Health and Fitness was opened by Harry Pfeiffer in 1967 under the name Limbo Health Studio. Previously a joinery, the place was quickly transformed into a gym. A short time after its opening Limbo health studio became the place to be for all aspiring bodybuilders and fitness fanatics. Bodybuilding was the craze in that era, mainly due to the inspiring physiques of such
people as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Frank Zane, Reg Park and Sergio Oliva. This growing popularity was seen as a great opportunity for the gym to start running its’ own bodybuilding competitions. These competitions drew bodybuilders and spectators from all across Adelaide, and proved to be a great success. This was the start of Limbos’ involvement with the sport of Bodybuilding
Since then, the gym has undergone various extensions and renovations to keep up with the growing demand of serious trainers. It has changed hands five times, with all owners supplying their own individual touches to create what it is today.
